This past week, I went to Amsterdam for the DEMO Festival (and my partner’s birthday 🎉) an event where motion design is displayed across train stations and public spaces. I had a piece selected, so I went to see it live.
It made me think about why we share our work. Why does it feel exciting to be selected? Why do we post about it? And how much of that excitement comes from the sense of approval… The idea that others recognizing our work makes it more valuable?
This video is a reflection on that. On creative validation, on how social media shapes our perception of success, and on the real value of connecting with other creatives outside the algorithm.
